You may not be able to spend your old £1 coins any longer, but we can use them to make a real difference supporting the vulnerable and homeless in Shrewsbury.  If you find any of the old style £1 coins over the next few months, please do consider bringing them in to our Drop-in Centre on Castle Foregate or to our charity shop on Castle street, where our volunteers are collecting them to put to good use in our community.

Did you know that the Shrewsbury Ark Shop on Castle Foregate not only raises much needed funds for the day to day running of our drop in centre, but it also provides an essential clothing service to our clients? This year's Big Busk was the best ever, with over 100 acts signing up to make the day the biggest celebration of street music Shrewsbury has ever seen.  Performers and supporters alike turned up on a drizzly day to inject some joy into the town centre and raise over £8,500 for The Shrewsbury Ark. Tabitha Makes A Sweet Donation To The Ark

Tabitha Purslow from Shrewsbury Sixth Form College decided she wanted to celebrate her 18th Birthday by helping those in need in her local community. She organised a party at the Wightman Theatre and instead of asking for presents she asked for donations to the Ark, she also sold sweets on the night and put out cash donation buckets, raising a grand total of £500.
