Become a Trustee
We are looking for new Trustees to join our Board and help guide the charity’s future. We welcome applications from a wide range of backgrounds, and would be especially interested to hear from people with knowledge of the following:

-
Fundraising – experience in applying for income from grant funding organisations and/or event planning.
-
The Charity Governance Code – an understanding of what is required by the Charity Commission to ensure a charity is well-led and managed to achieve its objectives.
-
Lived experience of homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction, or related vulnerabilities – bringing valuable insight into the challenges our community faces.
-
Strong local knowledge and networks in Shropshire – to help us build partnerships, raise awareness, and strengthen support.

As a Trustee, you will help set the charity’s strategic direction, ensure good governance, and act as an ambassador for The Ark. The role is voluntary and requires around 6–8 meetings a year, plus occasional events.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in your community and support some of Shropshire’s most vulnerable people.

Please contact Emily Bell on chair@shrewsburyark.org.uk with your CV and a covering letter explaining why you are interested in the role. We will contact you if we would like an initial meeting to discuss any suitable roles on the board.

Thank You For Your Support
Fundraise
The support of our local community is essential to the existance of the Ark. Fundraising not only brings much needed funds into the Ark, it also raises awareness of our charity and the vulnerable people and issues we work with.

Sponsored sporting achievements, cake sales and social events are just some of the ways we have been supported by local people in the past.
