The Shrewsbury Ark gets a fresh new look thanks to local businesses

The Shrewsbury Ark Homeless Day Centre is getting a fresh new look, thanks to the generosity of two local businesses who have donated their time and expertise to help the charity move into a new era.
Following last year’s Save the Ark campaign, local branding expert Warran Brindle, founder of Goodthing, offered to help the charity rethink its image and create a new brand that better reflects the support it now provides.
With the Ark’s previous logo no longer working well across digital platforms, and the charity now offering much more than basic day centre facilities, the time was right for a fresh start.
As well as providing practical support to people experiencing homelessness, or at risk of homelessness, the Ark now runs programmes covering tenancy readiness, mental health, neurodiversity, alcohol and harm reduction. It also works with partners in Telford and Wrekin through its Partners for Change project, funded by the National Lottery.
The new branding reflects this wider work and the Ark’s commitment to helping people build a more secure future, while recognising the values and history on which the charity was founded back in 1972.
Eagled-eyed supporters will have seen the new branding popping up across the Ark’s digital platforms, and new signage on the Ark’s building from Wednesday, 14 October 2026.

Warran Brindle, founder of Goodthing, said: “The Ark does such important work in our local community, and when the opportunity came along to help, I was very happy to get involved. A strong brand helps an organisation tell its story clearly and reach the people who need it.
It was a pleasure to work with the Ark's clients, staff and volunteers to bring this logo to life. I hope the new identity helps the Ark show the full range of what it does and connect with even more people who can support its work.”
In addition, working alongside the new branding the Ark will launch a new website in the coming weeks. Local company Clear generously offered its services at no charge to create this.
The new site will be easier to navigate, helping people find the information they need quickly and easily. Whether someone is looking for support, wants to donate, or is a funder looking to understand the Ark’s work, the website will make it simpler to find out more and get involved.
Gavin Mills, Managing Director at Clear, said: “We were pleased to have the chance to support the Ark. It provides a vital service for people in our community, and we wanted to use our skills to make a practical difference. The Ark offers so many more services than even we realised and a good website should make it easy for people to find what they need, understand what an organisation does and see how they can help. We hope the new site will do exactly that for the Ark.”

Emily Bell, Chair of Trustees at The Shrewsbury Ark, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Goodthing and Clear for their generosity. Their time, knowledge and expertise are a real gift to the Ark, and we cannot thank them enough.
“Our priority is always to ensure as much as possible from every donation goes directly towards supporting the people who come through our doors, and like many other small charities, we rely heavily on volunteers with the skills and expertise for our marketing. Having professionals freely give their time and knowledge means we can give the charity a fresh new look without reducing funding for the services people rely on.
“As we have grown and changed, our image reflects who we are today, the support we now offer and our vision for the future. We're really excited about this next chapter and hope our new look and website, when it launches, will help people understand the challenges vulnerable people in our community face, what we do to support them and help them make positive changes in their lives, and get involved in supporting our work. At the same time, also ensuring people can easily find the vital support they need.”
