Kyle’s memorial bench has been in situ for the last few weeks at the Ark allotment, whilst we've been waiting for the plaque to arrive.
Wendy invited Kyle's family, who travelled from Blackburn, and a small number of trustees, clients and volunteers (being mindful of the need to socially distance), to be present for the unveiling.
Even though numbers were restricted It was well attended, with Kyle's much loved dog Tel (now named Diesel) arriving as a special guest.
Ark trustee and Kyle's mentor, Tony sharpe, spoke about Kyle and ended with prayers, something Kyle would have appreciated.
The plaque was unveiled and people took pictures and tried the bench for comfort.
The plaque reads;
"Come rest your mind, body and soul. Watch Kyle's dream blossom and grow. Forever in our hearts."
I would like to thank my friend Giles Trigg, who gave up his time to make the bench for us.
It is our hope that people will visit our allotment and sit on Kyle's bench and take time out in quiet contemplation.
